Post-tib Tendonitis

What is it?

Post–Tib Tendonitis is a common foot problem. This condition occurs when the tibial tendon is torn, which results in pain and swelling on the inside of the ankle or pain in the arch or heel. This pain typically intensifies with physical activity.

What is the Cause?

The condition is caused by overuse of the Tibialis Posterior Muscle (inner calf muscle).

Recommended Treatment

In order to effectively treat this condition, sufficiently supportive and cushioned shoes are highly recommended. Custom orthotics can also help to ensure adequate support of the feet.
